Introduction

Space Marine is a new, fast-paced, third-person shooter set in the fictional universe of the tabletop game Warhammer 40,000. Like the tabletop game, this game has a plot which has so many twists and turns that you’ll be wondering what’s happening about half of the time. The main gist of it is that there is a planet under alien attack and an elite group of super-soldiers has been sent to cripple the invasion. Although things quickly get out of hand…

The most noticeable feature of this game are the amazing graphics which immediately become apparent the minute you start it. From the muzzle flashes when guns are shot, to the copious amounts of blood and gore that spill out when you gleefully dismember an enemy, are all hallmarks of some top-grade TPS action from THQ. Now here come the Pros and Cons…

Pros

-Amazing graphics

-Great Gameplay

-Online Multiplayer

Cons

-Confusing plot

-Sharp learning curve

-Only good for fans of the series

The Verdict

In my opinion, this game is a great piece of hardware that is essential for any fans of shoot-em-up games. It has a reasonable price tag (£25-30) and promises roughly 8 hours of campaign. The multiplayer is average, but these features may be lost on you if you’re unfamiliar with the series.
